Let Children Grow - See Kingsway School weekly BLOG [Apr. 26th, 2009|08:32 am]

Morning. Well today is day 1 of The Independent on Sunday's new campaign, suporting school garden plans, entitled "Let Childen Grow".
We have been very fortunate to be asked to be their beacon school in this campaign for a year, and this we are delighted to do! We have been since Christmas, as the article says, a partner school with the RHS "campaign for school gardening". This has inspired us to very quickly, plan, design, make and create a range of vegetable plots, soft fruit area, an outdoor willow classroom, a pumpkin patch and a community garden! All are at the early stages of development, and it is these projects that we look forward to sharing with the readers of the Independent on Sunday over time, to see how everything grows, what we do with the harvest, how the work impacts on the children's learning and how it may encourage a much healthier approach to eating.
If you want to know more, please use this blog or contact the school directly, where we will be more than willing to help you to "Let Children Grow!"

Hello, and congratulations on getting chosen to lead this campaign!

I grew up in Goole and although I didn't go to Kingsway I have a nephew who does, and it's great to see something positive happening there and in Goole itself.

I'm a few weeks late in finding this blog but I'll be sure to follow it now I've found it!

Keep up the great work.
